More About Me...
I launched my career in health care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Working in a hospital treating chronically sick
people, I came to the realization that my patients’ pain and suffering could be alleviated if they were empowered with proper
health education. This ignited my passion to teach people how to regain control over their own health destinies.
I returned to school to get my Bachelor’s in Community Health Education at James Madison University in Virginia, graduating
Summa Cum Laude, and was recognized as the Outstanding Senior in Health Science. I also took graduate-level classes for
Corporate Health Promotion at the University of Texas at Austin.
The highlights of my work history over the span of my lifelong health career include being the Director of the multi-award-
winning Choices Wellness Program at Brackenridge Hospital, the Creator and Director of HealthPLUS, the City of Austin’s
award-winning Employee Wellness Program, Director of Seton Good Health @ Work, Office Manager at Apple-a-Day Health
Clinic, and working with clients such as the American Botanical Council, Optimum Health Institute, the Omega Institute, and
many more.
At one point in my career, I decided to explore the relationship between beliefs, spirituality and health. I became a Certified
Spiritual Educator, Licensed Unity Teacher and a certified BePeace Facilitator (combines HeartMath and Non-violent
Communication). My employment during these years included being the Director of Youth Education and Pastoral Care at
Unity Church of the Hills in Austin, Texas.
After devoting my lifetime to health and wellness, I still felt like something was missing. People needed more experiential
learning to truly internalize and integrate what they learned to successfully put it into practice. And that’s where somatic
movement entered the picture. Once again, I returned to school for a professional certification in Somatic Movement
Education and Therapy. I completed the ISMETA- endorsed (International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy
Association) continuing education program at Austin Community College. After becoming certified in this transformative
program, I began to combine all that I learned into innovative educational programs for the public.
I am currently offering in-person workshops and individual sessions at your place of business. Periodically, I will travel to
provide workshops in different parts of the country. Contact me to make arrangements to visit your city.
